CELEBRATING THE INDUSTRY

SUCCESS

Last year at the Ritz Carlton

It was a night to remember for the 16 grand award recipients of the inaugural Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards which took place at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman on 14th October. More than 200 members and guests celebrated the achievements of the finalists in eight different award categories. They were joined by Minister of Commerce, Planning and Infrastructure the Hon. Joseph Hew, and the Minister of Public Finance and Economic Development, the Hon. Roy McTaggart, both Past Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce.

The business sector of the Cayman Islands is critical to both our economy and our way of life. While financial contributions of our members are understood, other contributions are sometimes overlooked. This event is about ensuring that the vital contributions of our members, beyond pure economics, are recognised," said President Kyle Broadhurst in his welcome remarks.

Digicel partnered with the Chamber to launch the annual awards programme. "We were incredibly thankful and grateful that the Chamber came to us to support this fantastic venture," says Raul Nicholson-Coe, CEO of Digicel. "What the Chamber of Commerce has achieved in the first year is incredible and lays the foundations for a legacy that will continue for years to come."

More than 45 businesses submitted entries for consideration in eight different categories The submissions were evaluated by local and international reviewers and 16 Grand Award recipients were announced; two in each category.
